Quick Weight Loss on a Silver Platter

March 5th, 2009 | 2 Comments | Posted in Diet and Fitness

We live in a world where everything is instant and pre-packaged. All ready to go, from the coffee that we drink to the food that we eat. In the busy world in which we are immersed, we seem to be drawn to something that is either easy or quick to do. That is why when people claim that they can guarantee a quick weight loss program, we jump right in.

But truth of the matter is, what is quick may not necessarily be that fast by anyone’s standard. Truthfully it takes a little bit of hard work for even the quickest of weight loss programs.

You have to know that everything involves work. Nothing is served on a silver platter, especially losing weight. Can you really expect to lose weight by just sitting and waiting?

Is Promised Quick Weight Loss Safe Weight Loss?

You hear a lot of programs claiming a hundred percent effectiveness. Well, the counter question is should be, “Is it 100 percent safe?”

We usually associate quick weight loss with fasting. This should be a big no-no. It is neither healthy nor realistic at all. You deprive yourself of nutrients that helps your body keep going. It’s unrealistic since you can’t possibly do not eat in long term.

We don’t a quick death from quick weight loss, now do we? It may sound horrible but we need to realize that it does happen.

But there are situations that require us to lose that weight as fast as we can. For example, you need to fit into a dress within a week for a prom date, or want to tone up your body for a vacation coming soon. Sound familiar?

The trick to quick weight loss is to give yourself more time. At least, you give yourself a month or so to trim down. What is important and what you have to keep in mind is that food and exercise should go hand in hand. Stay away from crash diets as much as possible. You certainly do not want to lose all that energy and faint due to hunger. You can’t put a months worth of weight loss into a couple of days. The more time you give yourself, the better chance you have of success.

Keep your diet on the right track by eliminating sweets and sugar entirely. Even on a non-rushed diet, you should be avoiding sugars. But on a quick weight loss diet, you must avoid empty calories wherever you can.

Another way that can help guarantee a quick weight loss is exercise. No time? Well, there is always time. You don’t have to go to the gym to do your exercise routine. This just means that you need to move around. Sweat it up. Instead of driving your car you might want to walk to do your groceries. Or go dancing. You should practice on those moves anyway. Anything you can do to burn calories all day long will help you lose weight.

You practice perseverance and hard work in the workplace to get promoted. The same perspective will also apply to losing weight. To ensure quick weight loss it involves those two things. You must be determined to do and you must put in some hard work. You can lose the same amount of weight easier if you had more time. But when you are in a rush, you do have to work for it. Quick weight loss doesn’t come on a silver platter!

Instant gratification is great but there are some things that can’t be rushed. I believe losing weight properly is one of those things. Usually if it sounds too good to be true, it is.

It’s a bit ridiculous how people resort to quick weight loss schemes to look good good for a few days or so, if they’d actually stuck to a program and maintained weight loss they wouldn’t be looking around for a one time quick fix.
